Changes in the kingdom after Heldar's siege

The details of Heldar's siege can be found here. His brief siege led to major impacts on two organizations in the kingdom.

Reorganization of the Protectorate.

High Commander Hulzek was given a grand funeral befitting of his status at the place of his birth. His successor Kriol initiated a minor reorganization of the Protectorate. Heldar's siege exposed several deficiencies with the current defence structure of the Kingdom. After the Insurgence ended in 26 AFZ, Protectorate camps were spread out across the Kingdom to ensure greater response time to threats. However, it did not factor in a bold attack on the Royal Palace itself. While the previous structure was largely maintained, more camps were set up in the capital city Zeg to surround the Royal Palace with quick response Protectorate sections. Tactics were developed to deal with such attacks.

The Protectorate tightened the monitoring of the Warriors. The Warriors were now only allowed to fight in the Reyda Festival arenas and paid sanctioned expeditions into the wilds to hunt down wild animals. Any Warrior guilty of violating the rules was harshly punished.

Acceptance of the Magi Order.

The Magi Order was previously treated with suspicion and fear for their destructive magical potential. After the end of the Insurgence in 26 AFZ, they were open to detention and often severely punished by Protectors who feared that the Magi Order could be the next group out to cause trouble. As a result, members of the Order became reclusive.

In 52 AFZ, the founder of the Magi Order Andrya was convening the Order's annual secret meeting in the capital city Zeg with a group of Elemancers and Elementals to exchange magical knowledge when she learnt about Heldar's siege on the Royal Palace. Andrya and her Mages assisted the Protectors in breaking the siege. She personally killed Heldar in the battle. After the battle, King Xath II officially recognized the Magi Order as an ally and were given free passage in the Kingdom. The King offered to build a base for the Order but Andrya kindly refused.
